Biking has always been a fun, healthy way to get around, but what can a person do when they become too old or unhealthy enough to continue cycling? The answer may be, switching to an electric version such as the Currie Technologies eZip TriCruiser Electric Bicycle.

An electric bicycle is a perfect way for older folks to regain their independence, no longer having to rely on friends and family to shuttle them to and from their appointments and shopping trips. The three wheeled design of the eZip TriCruiser means that an extra level of stability is added for those who may be lacking in riding experience, as well as for people who may feel that they may not have the strength to control a regular two-wheeled cycle. Comfort is also key, and the bike comes with an extra wide saddle that is designed to maximize that comfort level, even when the bike is being ridden for longer distances.

The 36 volt rechargeable battery makes sure that those long rides are a snap, and the bike can go for 30-35 miles on every charge. If the battery does run out, or the rider just wants to preserve power, then the switch can be made to good, old-fashioned pedal power, but they will have to go a long way to match the 15 mph top speed of the TriCruiser. A large basket is mounted on the back, big enough to hold the groceries, and it can also be folded down to be used as a platform for larger items.

The eZip has been designed with durability and ease of use in mind, and those items have been addressed by adding heavy duty, 24 inch alloy rims, complete with full fenders; adjustable handlebars are standard and speed is controlled by a simple twist and go throttle method, meaning that even the most novice of riders will feel at ease when in control of the bike.

The eZip TriCruiser Electric Bicycle can be used by anyone, but it really is ideally suited for the elderly and other folks who have difficulty getting around on two feet.
