Schwinn Meridian is currently on sale on Amazon through this link!
I was on the hunt for a decent three-wheeled bike. I’d been looking at several different options, and finally I bought this Schwinn Meridian Tricycle. I chose this adult trike because it has ample room in back for groceries. The folding rear basket is big enough to load a lot of stuff, and the wheels are 26”, which was my desired studded tire size.
Humble and Environmentally friendly
To me, Schwinn Meridian is a humble yet environmentally friendly vehicle. If you are planning to make an effort to better the environment, live green and reduce your carbon footprint like I am, this adult trike is your best choice. Not only does it give you a fun way to exercise and get around, this adult tricycle also serves a cargo function— you can load lots of books or groceries into its big basket. I love to ride my Meridian to the grocery store or do little neighborhood errands on a perfect sunny day.
Comfort Oriented
One thing I really like about the Schwinn Meridian Tricycle is that it is like a comfort-oriented three-wheeled machine. It comes with a single speed that makes it very easy to use. My intention in getting a trike was for leisure riding and neighborhood errands, not for speed. This is the reason I chose the Schwinn Meridian over the Schwinn Town & Country, which comes with 3 speeds.
Excellent Mechanical Design
As for mechanical design, Schwinn Meridian is built with a lightweight alloy frame, which is actually lighter than I thought it would be. It also comes with a good V-brake on the front rim and a traditional “strap” brake in the rear. All of these solid design features make the Meridian a comfortable, sturdy and safe vehicle.
My First Ride
I had a little incident when I first tried to ride my Schwinn Meridian. I found that it has a tendency to pull toward the chain side of the trike. I thought I might be doing something wrong during the assembly and had messed up the alignment. So I brought it to a bike shop for a check, where the mechanic told me the pulling was due to uneven tire pressure. The sensation of pulling to the side is just like a car with a flat pulling to one side. He also mentioned that since this was my first time riding a three-wheeled bike, I might feel a little different than I would on a regular bike. The handling characteristics are not the same. A tricycle is not steered by leaning as with a bicycle. It must be steered by turning the handle bar. To ensure I could have a fine ride, he helped me to adjust the rear axle, which is the two bolts between the tire and the axle. After a few days of riding my Meridian, I’m now totally addicted to it! I just love my new trike!
To me, Schwinn Meridian Tricycle is really a good buy for the price, due to its excellent quality. I would highly recommend the Meridian to anyone who is looking to buy their first adult trike at a reasonable price. Read more user reviews.

I baught my Schwinn Meridian in August 07, and I am very happy with how sturdy it is and how easy it is to ride. I have two young healthy dogs who need a lot more exercise then I could give them. So I baught the bike to exercise them with and it is working out better then I could have ever hoped. The bike is very sturdy so if the dogs pull hard to one side it doesnt budge. The brakes are wonderful- stop on a dime. [Read full review here..]

I purchased this bike based on the reviews. It arrived quickly and it’s great! It rides very nice. I’m a 38 with a back problem that keeps me from riding a regular bike. This was the PERFECT answer for me. I can ride with the kids and Hubby without any problems and without worrying about hurting my back while balancing a regular bike. The basket is great! You can fit a lot of stuff in it for a long bike ride (water, blanks, food, kites! A small sized dog could easily ride in the basket too!). Best part about the basket is that it collapses and folds onto its self so that it can be a flat “bed”.
There was just a few items to assemble. Most of the bike was pre-assembled, which surprised me. You do have to put on the, steering wheel, front tire and fender, the rear tires and fenders, the foot pedals, and connect the rear frame with the front frame (two bolts) and a small drive chain–which was easy. The basket has four bolts to attach it to the frame and that’s basically it! [Read full review here..]
